Teeth whitening zoom 4
In just one hour we can create an attractive, bright smile. We can whiten your teeth by 6-8 shades. The effect lasts for 2-3 years.
At Svetlana Dental & Esthetic Center Miami, it takes only 45-50 minutes to brighten the color of your tooth enamel by 6 to 8 shades, with results lasting for several years. We’ll create a beautiful smile in just one visit using Zoom 4 teeth whitening technology.
What is Zoom 4?
Zoom 4 is an advanced and more gentle technology of professional teeth whitening – when compared to Zoom 3 – which is performed only at a dentist’s office. It helps to get rid of yellowish pigment – both congenital and acquired due to smoking or frequent consumption of colorful products. A fourth-generation LED lamp produced by Philips is used for this procedure.
Thousands of dentists around the world believe that Zoom 4 is the optimal balance between efficiency and safety – especially when compared to Zoom 2 or 3, which are outdated and harmful to health.
This procedure is suitable for most patients and has near-zero contraindications.
How does it work?
A special whitening gel based on 25% hydrogen peroxide is applied to the prepared tooth enamel. It contains a photo activator that accelerates hydrogen peroxide decomposition into free radicals.
A Zoom WhiteSpeed lamp, which emits light with a wavelength in the range of 400-505 nanometers, triggers the decomposition process. Oxygen molecules are released as a result of UV exposure to the active substance. They penetrate the tooth enamel and destroy the pigmented spots, brightening it by 6 to 8 shades.
Patients often ask me: “What affects the result of whitening?”
Although Zoom 4 is an effective whitening method, the final result can be affected by factors beyond the doctor’s professionalism. E.g., if you’re a heavy smoker, the color of the teeth will soon darken due to nicotine. In this case, you should either give up the bad habit or regularly visit your dentist for professional cleaning.
Indications and contraindications
The main indication for this procedure is the patient’s desire to improve the appearance of teeth due to poor aesthetics – darkening or yellowing of tooth enamel – which resulted from the consumption of colorful foods and drinks or smoking.
When can’t Zoom 4 be performed at all?
It can’t be performed if the patient:
Has cancerous diseases
Has a congenital hypersensitivity to ultraviolet light
Has diabetes mellitus
Is less than 18 years old
Is taking medications that make the enamel and tissues more sensitive to ultraviolet light.
Relative (temporary) contraindications are:
Untreated tooth decay
Wedge-shaped defect with dentin exposure
Fillings, crowns, or veneers on the front teeth.
- Instant results
One session allows you to whiten yellow enamel by 6 to 8 VITA shades. The duration of one session is up to 50 minutes.
- Suitable for sensitive teeth
A Zoom WhiteSpeed lamp has several radiation intensity levels. Thanks to this, we can choose the intensity for each patient depending on the sensitivity of your tooth enamel.
- Persistence of the whitening effect
If you follow all the dentist’s recommendations, the whitening effect will last 2-3 years. Clinical studies prove that Philips Zoom WhiteSpeed – with a special gel – showed 55% better results than any other lamp-less whitening technology with 40% gel.
- Minimal discomfort
The whitening gel contains only 25% of the active ingredient and calcium phosphate, which restores the mineral composition of enamel. This reduces the severity and duration of the pain syndrome (up to 24 hours) in patients with hypersensitivity. At Svetlana Dental, patients are prescribed special gels for relief after the procedure.

Stages of Zoom 4
Consultation and examination
The doctor evaluates the condition of the tooth enamel and the oral cavity as a whole. They determine whether there are absolute or temporary contraindications. Then they define what preparatory procedures are needed before Zoom 4 teeth whitening.
Includes treatment of gums and removal of carious deposits. Hygienic cleaning of plaque and tartar is on the list of mandatory procedures. The rest is determined by the doctor, depending on the clinical picture.
Choosing the desired shade and color of the tooth enamel
The duration of the session depends on the shade and color. The patient’s mouth is fixed with a retractor. A liquid cofferdam is applied to the gum to protect it from the active ingredient. It is obligatory to dry the surface of the teeth. After that, the gel is applied and the dental row is illuminated with a lamp 3 times (each time for 15 minutes). At the end of the procedure, the tooth enamel is remineralized with a special gel to restore its protective properties.
The final doctor’s consultation
You’ll get practical recommendations that will help reduce the sensitivity of enamel and keep your snow-white smile as long as possible.
Zoom 4 vs Opalescence
|Where?||Zoom 4 teeth whitening is only performed at a dentist’s office. This minimizes the risks of complications, increases safety, and makes the procedure more effective||Produces systems for both professional and home whitening|
|Maximum brightening||6 to 8 shades||The home whitening system allows you to whiten your teeth by 3 to 4 shades|
|Procedure duration||45-60 minutes||Depending on the protocol. E.g., Opalescence Boost PF with 40% hydrogen peroxide takes 60-90 minutes at a clinic|
|UV exposure||The exposure is minimal when compared to past generations, which significantly reduces the risk of developing hypersensitivity after the procedure||Not necessary. Activation occurs naturally and immediately after application (without a lamp) as a reaction between the gel components|
Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on the condition of the teeth and congenital abnormalities. Doctors recommend undergoing the procedure no more than once a year if necessary.
Maximum 24 hours after the procedure. We prescribe gels, rinse fluid, or toothpaste specifically designed for patients with hypersensitivity.
Avoid foods and drinks that stain teeth for the first 2-3 days – it is better to reduce their consumption to the minimum in the future. The same goes for smoking. Visit your dentist’s office regularly for dental hygiene.
When you have fillings or crowns in the anterior area and you are not planning to change them together with whitening. The gel’s active ingredient acts only on the tooth tissue and cannot change the color of fillings or crowns. As a result, the naturalness and beauty of your teeth will be compromised.
