How does teeth whitening work?

A whitening gel contains hydrogen/carbamide peroxide. By penetrating deep into the enamel and dentin, these substances disintegrate, releasing atomic oxygen, which destroys the pigments that have changed the color of the teeth at the molecular level. As a result, the teeth brighten by 6 to 8 shades or even more.

The surface of the teeth must be clean of bacterial plaque and stone for the gel to act evenly and penetrate well through the enamel. Therefore, cleaning of the oral cavity from soft and hard dental plaque is carried out before whitening.

Indications

  • Yellow or dark stains on enamel

  • Age-related discoloration of teeth

  • Fluorosis

  • Tetracycline stains.

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity of teeth

  • Individual intolerance to the components of the whitening gel.

What methods of professional whitening are used at our clinic?

We use the best whitening technologies to achieve a snow-white smile without harming the health of your enamel.

Opalescence Go

A set of UltraFit (melon and mint flavored) home-ready mouthguards filled with a whitening gel. In addition to 6% hydrogen peroxide, the gel contains sodium fluoride and potassium nitrate to reduce the sensitivity of enamel. The mouthguards should be used for 60-90 minutes a day. The whitening course takes up to 10 days.

Opalescence Go is a comfortable course of professional teeth whitening at home. For patients who want to inexpensively brighten their teeth by several shades.

Zoom 4

An optimal choice for patients who want to whiten their teeth up to 8 shades in one visit and preserve the results for up to 5 years. A patented whitening gel with 25% hydrogen peroxide is applied to the cleaned enamel surface. It is activated by a special Zoom WhiteSpeed lamp, which accelerates the breakdown of hydrogen peroxide into free radicals. The duration of the procedure is up to 1.5 hours.

Zoom 4 – just one hour, and you have a snow-white smile! This is the latest generation of the whitening system, characterized by maximum safety for the teeth.

KöR

An innovative technology for deep teeth whitening. Initially, the patient wears day or night mouthguards with a whitening gel – with hydrogen/carbamide peroxide as an active ingredient – for 14-21 days. Then, they undergo a one-hour hydrogen peroxide whitening treatment at a dentist’s office.

KöR Whitening Deep Bleaching is a whitening system that includes an unparalleled factory-sealed gel cooling system which is unpacked right at a clinic immediately before application. Thanks to this, the active ingredients don’t lose their strength during transportation or storage and work at their maximum!

Veneers

For numerous yellowed or darkened fillings on the front teeth, it is better to place ceramic veneers. These thin (0.3-0.5 mm), highly aesthetic overlays will create a perfect smile for years to come. Before bonding to the front surface of the teeth, the enamel layer must be resurfaced to the thickness of the veneer.

Lumineers

Ultra-thin overlays (up to 0.3 mm) made of pressed E-max ceramics. In most cases, can be placed without preparing the tooth. They cost a little bit more.

Yes, some home teeth whitening products can achieve good results. But clinical whitening has several advantages:

  • Predictability of the result. Every smile is unique. Clinical whitening takes into account the individual needs of the patient, giving results not only effectively but also safely.
  • Effectiveness. Home whitening options are limited. Only professional clinical whitening can make your smile whiter in complicated clinical cases.
  • Safety. Home enamel whitening runs a high risk of chemical burns to the mucosa. There is always a chance to use the purchased product incorrectly or not take into account any contraindications.
